How I try to think.
Operating principles I keep coming back to — in finance, in code, and in life.
Compound everything.
Skills, relationships, reading, savings. The math is the same — small, consistent inputs, an honest time horizon, and patience.
Numbers tell stories. Stories drive decisions.
A model that doesn't translate into a clear narrative isn't finished. The work is the explanation.
Strong opinions, loosely held.
Have a view. Test it against the next piece of evidence. Be willing to change it without ego.
Show your working.
Transparency beats polish. A messy assumption page is more trustworthy than a clean answer with no audit trail.
Reversible decisions, fast. Irreversible ones, slow.
Move quickly on small bets where the cost of being wrong is low. Slow down — way down — on the few that you can't undo.
